A fly ball in foul territory sent Pirates first baseman Phillip Evans toward outfielder Gregory Polanco with whom he collided trying to make the catch. Polanco’s elbow jolted Evans’ jaw and he required medical attention. He was able to pound the fist of a teammate before being taken from the field on a stretcher.
